Isuzu 4J Series Genset Ready Power Units   

At a time when engineering resources are in great demand, we are in an environment that requires more virtual connectivity than ever before, and equipment manufacturers are unable to provide dedicated personnel to every new generator set project, Isuzu Diesel developed and is launching Power Units ready to bolt onto your generator sets. Whether the application is a portable welder, light tower, or mobile application, Isuzu’s 4J-Series 1800 rpm EPA Tier 4 certified Power Units are ready for your generator sets. These units can be standard or custom designed to meet specific OEM requirements and offer quiet, eco-friendly, and fuel-efficient dependability that have been proven over time in a real work environment. Isuzu has been committed to the market since 1916 with reliable performance at the forefront of every product built. The compact design of these assemblies with SCR over the flywheel provides versatility for generator and alternator end manufacturers. These power units are built with common components for many configuration options. A single power unit can fit multiple applications leading to lower inventory costs while streamlining the supply chain. The biggest benefit is reduced design engineering time for faster project turn-a-round. This reduces internal engineering resources for the Distributor and OEM which can provide cost savings. Additionally, Isuzu Diesel is focused on durability and flexibility. The cooling intake and exhaust system designs for the Power Unit are pre-approved but can be customized for specific applications. The new 4J-Series Power Unit designs released also include the following benefits: • Common wire harnesses across platforms (4J-Series and 4H-Series) that work for both constant and variable speed applications. • A PCV heater that mitigates PCV line freeze-up. • Crankcase pressure switch safety to prevent damage from excessive crankcase pressure. • The power unit fits several models of Stamford, Marathon and Mecc Alte generators that mount to a SAE 3 flywheel housing and combination 10”/11.5” flywheel. Because these Power Units are fully validated prior to release for Distributors and the OEM customers, this product significantly reduces time to market, mitigating additional engineering design time and resources. Isuzu Diesel is launching the 4J-Series 1800 rpm generator set ready power units as a first of its series in Summer 2020. Future launches of the 4H-Series 1800 rpm and 6H-Series 1800 rpm are in the works with targeted consecutive releases in fourth quarter 2020 and into 2021.
